FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What type of ID is accepted for notarization?

We accept government-issued photo IDs such as state driver’s licenses, passports, state IDs, and military IDs. IDs must be current (not expired) and sufficient to reasonably identify the signer. If you are unsure about an ID, call ahead to confirm.

  • Do all signers need to be present?

Yes. By law, all signers must appear before the notary at the time of notarization. A notary cannot notarize a signature made earlier or a signature made remotely unless signing is performed under an authorized remote notarization platform — currently subject to Oregon law and availability.

  • Can I get a document notarized if it was signed in another state?

A document signed in another state may still be notarized in Oregon, but the notarial act must conform to Oregon requirements. If a previous notarization is present, acceptance often depends on the receiving institution’s rules.

  • Do you offer notary services for non-English documents?

Yes, we can notarize documents in any language as long as we can verify identity and the signer understands what they are signing. We do not provide translation services; if translation is needed, please bring a certified translator or translated documents for the signing.

  • What if I need a notarization outside regular business hours?

We offer scheduled mobile appointments and can often accommodate urgent needs outside standard hours for an additional travel or after-hours fee. Call (503) 559-0412 to discuss availability.
